Many applications require wavelength switchable light sources. For example, in visual applications, different types of objects may require different illumination wavelengths to achieve optimal contrast. The Mightex WheeLED TM wavelength switchable LED light source allows users to manually switch between LED light sources with different wavelengths and/or white LEDs. 
There are multiple wavelengths and white LEDs available for users to choose from. The selected LED is installed in the light source chassis at the factory. Then users can switch between the installed LEDs by manually rotating the handwheel. Contains high NA non spherical collimating optical elements for precise collimation and high light flux. The aperture of the optical component is 22 millimeters in diameter. Other optional optical components can be added for fiber/optical coupling and other functions. The light source consists of a 5-foot long cable with a connector on one end that can be plugged into the light source, and two bare wire terminals on the other end. The light source can be driven by a Mightex LED controller or other LED controllers and current sources. Only one driving channel is needed, as only one wavelength is powered at any time. The light source is equipped with overcurrent protection to prevent potential damage during the switching process. The optional focusing module can be installed in front of the LED collimator to focus light onto a tight point, i.e. the image of the LED emitter. An optional light guide adapter is also provided to couple LED lights into the light guide, as shown in the following figure. 
How to order WheeLED? The steps are as follows: 1) The WheeLED wavelength switchable LED light source consists of a main frame (P/N: WLS-22-A). This rack can add up to 9 LEDs; 2) Add up to nine (9) required LED emitters (P/N: WLS LED-xxxx-xx) to your WheeLED; 3) When checking out, mark the handwheel position for each wavelength in the remarks section. For example: position 1:470nm, position 2:365nm, position 6:530nm. |
